Types of Autotrophic Nutrition - About chemoautotrophs

Chemoautotrophs
Chemoautotrophs are organisms that obtain their energy from a chemical reaction (chemotrophs) but their source of carbon is the most oxidized form of carbon, carbon dioxide (CO2).
Some examples of chemoautotrophs are-
sulfur-oxidizing bacteria, nitrogen-fixing bacteria and iron-oxidizing bacteria. Cyanobacteria are included in the nitrogen-fixing bacteria that are categorized as chemoautotrophs.

Chemoautotrophs are commonly found in environments where plants cannot survive, such as at the bottom of the ocean, or in acidic hot springs.
